Yet, even if he considers it to be a "speculative investment", he thinks these markets have gone on to last, especially since the introduction of Bitcoin futures by Cboe and CME Group. .
Nick Colas, co-founder of DataTrek Research, has offered predictions about the price that the first cryptocurrency could reach in 2018. In an interview with CNBC, he indicated that Bitcoin could move between $ 6,500 and $ 22,000 next year.

Julian Hosp, the co-founder of the company TenX, estimates that the digital currency could exceed 60 000 dollars in 2018 ... but it could as well fall back to 5000 dollars.

Ira Epstein, director of the law firm Linn & Associates, said in an interview with Bloomberg that Bitcoin is "a more speculative investment vehicle" than "traditional" currencies. He also explained that it would be impossible today to spend cryptocurrencies on his daily purchases:
