Will We Get "Marked" and "Registered" for Using Bitcoin?

EU is apparently looking to register digital currency users along with recording bitcoin transactions in a central database to prevent terrorist financing and money laundering.

Well that sucks right? I'm 100% against money laundering or terrorism financing or any kind of bad-doings, but being in some kind of a database that can potentially be hacked and leaked (along with your personal data - probably even your "bitcoin net worth") can have some serious implications on someones life.
