So, bitcoin has a face now?
Bitcoin happens to be the payment system invented by Satoshi Nakamoto, or someone who just goes by that name. The invention was published in 2008 and has been categorised by the U.S. treasury as a decentralised virtual currency. But, you'd be surprised to know that Bitcoin is the largest of its kind according to the total market value. Also known as the cryptocurrency, Bitcoins are traded electronically, like the dollars, euros, yen, which are also traded digitally. But, now someone has claimed to be the Satoshi Nakamoto of Bitcoin, that is, the inventor. BBC has revealed him.
An Australian tech entrepreneur has claimed something.
Craig Wright has claimed that he is one of the inventors of Bitcoin. But, we want a proof before we can know if this is actually the person.
BBC reported Craig had given technical proofs.
viaSeemingly, he has the access to blocks of bitcoins which are produced by the currency's creator.
But, the mystery hasn't ended yet.
viaResearchers and believers think that the creator Nakamoto might have 1 million bitcoins, worth about US$440 million! Whoa! To put into a better perspective, let me tell you, one Bitcoin equals about 3837 US Dollars.
While Mr.Wright claimed
"I was the main part of it, but other people helped me", he was reported as asserting.
So, bitcoin has a face now?
In a blog post, Wright wrote, "This incredible community's passion, intellect and perseverance has taken my small contribution and nurtured it, enhanced it, breathed life into it".
And, the biggest revelation!
"Satoshi is dead," he said. "But this is only the beginning."
