From the banking to the shipping industry, blockchain technology is gradually making its entry into every sector. Now with the launch of the Moneo.io, DLT technology has entered the growing freelance market as well.

After running a beta program for over six months, the London-based freelance hiring firm launched publicly this week. This blockchain-based talent agency will help global companies hire talented and experienced freelancers specializing in the blockchain industry. It only lists high-end freelancers with specializations varying from coding to marketing.

Moneo.io claims that since the launch of its beta program, it has catered to over 400 clients handling projects worth $8 million.

Also because of market liquidity, Moneo.io does not have to charge any platform fees to the freelancers, so it can easily offset around 10 percent from the hiring firms.

Richard Foster, co-founder of Moneo.io, said: “The freelance ethos is a natural fit for the boundless application of decentralized technologies. We saw not so much a gap in the market, as a yawning chasm for a digital, crypto-platform that brought together ambitious and innovative firms with the smartest independent blockchain talent across all disciplines.”

He added: “We only accept a fraction of freelance applications, so firms can be confident that whether they hire an Ethereum developer in the US, a UK blockchain marketing consultant, or an ICO expert in Germany, they are the best in their field.”

In the business world, there are plenty of applications of blockchain technology. From smart contracts to improving supply chains, the entry point of the technology is diversified.

The decentralized technology also has many applications for talent searching. rIt can make the process of work delegation much simpler and more efficient. Also, the process of credential verification can be done properly if the system is using blockchain.

Many universities around the world, including the University of Melbourne, use blockchain as part of their credential process. This will make the credential verification very easy and transparent.

Apart from the credential verification, shared work history on the blockchain will help employers learn about potential hires and verify their work background. All in all, there is a huge space for the blockchain to take in the talent industry. It can revolutionize the process by making it more transparent.
