HitBTC : Rumors of Dissolution, Possibility of Exit Scam

in #bitcoin7 years ago

There are rumors that HitBTC.com, a popular bitcoin exchange, is going to be dissolved soon.
Few things that confirms this rumors are:

  • Recently most of the users finds trouble logging in.
  • Withdrawal of Coins/Tokens are delayed by a month
  • Reports of deposits vanishing

Here's another one that supports this:

A quick lookup of company records reveals that an application to strike the company off the records was filed on Oct 6th. https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/09239668/filing-history
The First Gazette notice from Oct 17th states that the company will be stricken-off and dissolved within 2 months of the notice, so either hitbtc.com was dissolved on Dec 17th or is about to be de-listed.
The final notice states: "Upon dissolution all property and rights vested in, or held in trust for, the company are deemed to be bona vacantia, and accordingly will belong to the crown."

So fellow friends, if you are a user of HitBTC, kindly takes necessary measures and if you are not a member, keep away from it!

They send you an email asking to login, but even though you fill in the right password. Beware, it could be phishing. So, folks, use different passwords for login and email

in other exchanges, of course. Lesson learned. Before depositing into any exchange, ALWAYS check some news beforehand.
