I'm on it now. Just tried to upload to it and got an error message.

There is a weak link. The exchanges can be shutdown for various excuses like fruad, money laundering and terrorist funding. Also the same KYC regulation red tape or calling crypto a financial asset and put in more red tapes etc.
Can they succeed? Nah
Crypto currencies are 21st century fiat, one moment and I will "fork" some more wealth. Bitcoin cash is a case in point. We should not over look the role of gold and silver. Does the US government track the migration of gold out of the US? I understand this was a problem in 1971.
