Audius has raised $5.5 million in private funding from General Catalyst, Lightspeed, Pantera Capital, and more. Audius has been called the next SoundCloud on the blockchain. Audius wants to empower music creators by giving them back full ownership of their music. Audius wants to enable you to own your content by creating immutable and timestamp records for your creative works when you register them with the Audius blockchain.
With Audius you own all your music and you will be able to discover new content or verify your authenticity. Monetize your content- Audius will allow you safely and instantly get paid when others listen to your content. Audius will allow you to choose from pre-existing licenses or create your own licenses and automate the payments as others listen to your music.
Audius will allow you to create a profile and view important info in your dashboard like listeners, popular geographic regions for your music, etc. And with Audius you will get paid instantly in real-time as others listen to your music.
Also, if you are more interested in being a listener than a content creator, then you can immediately listen to new songs from your favorite artists on Audius without additional software needed. When you listen to your favorite artists on the platform you will be supporting them as all proceeds will go to content creators. According to their website Audius already has several artists that have agreed to exclusively release their content on the platform.

blockchain will definitely open a new door for music industry. but this time artists will have power without the dominance of 3rd parties that have been exploiting the artist rights for a long long time.
Beautiful idea. But, what's the difference between the Audius concept and the Dlive concept?
I guess Audius is only focused on music, so it will probably attract professional artists with a lot of talent. But Dlive seems cool haven't spent much time on there.

There really isn't a ton of information about the project yet since it's new, but yeah I think it would be based on Ethereum and give you full ownership of any content you create.
