Amazon Could Accept Bitcoin As Payment Very Soon | Here's The Rumours
I've always wanted to buy stuff off amazon using the BTC that I have , today I went to google and searched for the possible ways to pay amazon using BTC the results showed up but none of them were showing the way that was directly done by amazon. Cause a lot of the results came up with third party websites and services. But then my eye cought attention to this article by cointelegraph.
In this article it was reported that a German Newspaper Die Welt published this article on Tuesday which hinted it's readers with the rumours of Amazon accepting Bitcoin as payment which was pointed out by the sources of fintech situated in Silicone Valley saying James Altucher which is an investor was hinting about this new payment system.
In this report James Altucher was hinting that the upcoming conference which is going to happen on Thurdays may lead Amazon and Bitcoin to walk together.

“Even if the Oct. 26 date is not set in stone, Bitcoin introduction should probably be expected soon,”
A representative of Amazon said to thenewspaper that
“(Amazon) opts to include new products or services only when these are useful for our customers - until that point, we do not engage in rough speculation.”
So Today is 26th Oct and Amazon is going to have a conference and I think they could possibly put all the hype to an end by integrating BTC
After reading all this I speculate that the day when we all can pay amazon using our Bitcoin is very close.
This would be a really awesome payment option for the oversea buyers, for those that don't have a global payment card, or for young teens who don't have a credit or a debit card and have to reply on their parents to buy stuff off amazon.
But as for now if amazon only goes with Bitcoin steem users can then exchange their steem with BTC and then buy the stuff they want from Amazon
Using BTC as a payment option also increases the security of your bank in a way that if by any means Amazon gets hacked your card details would not be leaked simply because you're using Bitcoin as the payment option.
Will the price of Bitcoin rise after this integration by Amazon ?
Yes, I think the price will increase a lot because when people would come to know the benefits of using Bitcoin as a payment option more and more people will start buying it and thus the price of Bitcoin will soar.
How can steemit users benefit from this ?
Well, I would have been more happy if Amazon could also accept Steem as the payment option and then our users could directly buy gifts , or other stuffs using their hard earned Steem
But for now if Amazon only uses Bitcoin as payment then steemit users will have to exchange their steem with Bitcoin and then use it pay on Amazon

This is nothing but a widespread rumor. The rumor has been circulating that claims Amazon will decide to accept bitcoin within the near future. Unfortunately, this rumor is based on a misleading blog post and is almost certainly false.
There are still multiple challenges to be overcome before it can reach widespread use.
However, Amazon has made no public statements suggesting they will implement bitcoin payments, The company is so ubiquitous that is unlikely they would see a noticeable increase in sales. Amazon’s valuation is nearly four times the size of the combined market caps of all cryptocurrencies, and despite the bitcoin price’s year-to-date surge, its market cap is still more than $15 billion less than the net worth of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.
That would be a HUGE step forward to bitcoin and cryptos in general.
@tech-trends according to the rumors I've heard the announcement is supposed to be proclaimed as a part of Amazon's quarterly earnings report for Q3, which in fact takes place today (after US market close)

Thanks for the great article, that would be a huge step forward for mass adaption of cryptocurrencies. I guess once a play like Amazon is introducing BTC as payment possibilitiy, these would also open the door for integration of other currencies such as Steem. I´ve read the whitepaper for the Smart Media Tokens (SMT) and could push Steem to another level!
the market always looks for a pioneer, if amazon adopts bitcoin soon you will see other major outlets adopting the same
Amazon market cap is of 467.37 billion dollars so this could bring Bitcoin up to 20 k. Great news for cryptocurrencies.
