IGNITION COIN (IC) - staking analysis

I guess by now you've heard about Ignition coin and you're either already mining, staking or you have an IC masternode running. With a max. supply of just 5 mil. coins it is not easy to come across IC anymore. You can still get some on the Discord channel, however that is proving to be more and more difficult. You can buy it on various exchanges though, such as Cryptobridge, Coinexchange or even Cryptopia. What I have to say, IC was holding the price quite firmly during the past month which was quite turbulent. A a matter of fact, I consider Ignition Coin one of the most stable coins in my staking portfolio. I'm currently staking it in both Ignition Discord channel (yes, it's possible, you can join here) and StakeUnited (join here).

It is indeed more difficult to track the actual staking rewards on the official IC Discord channel, so I cannot witness to the actual percentage gains. What I know is that there are no fees for staking your coins with the official IC Discord channel. So that might work for you. If it doesn't, then StakeUnited is the way you should go. Here you'll have a complete overview of your staking history. You'll be able to track the daily profits from staking your coins. Of course, StakeUnited takes some fees (3%) for their staking services. I consider that a fair price since I don't have to worry about anything.

The third option is staking by yourself. But unless you have a significant amount of coins, don't even bother, I recommend either joinig a shared Masternode service or a staking pool such as StakeUnited. On the other hand, if you have a bunch of coins, for instance 3.000 IC, just run a MasterNode.

As I said, you can track you daily staking rewards, but you actually don't have to, since I'm doing that for you! You can find all the information in my latest staking analyses (here). That one contains my whole staking portfolio. But here, I'll do a separate analyses of IC only. Below is the information related to my staking history.

So, if you're using StakeUnited services, it might take some time for your coins to mature and you actually receive your first stakes. Some coins take even longer to start staking. It all depends on the moment you transfer your coins to your StakeUnited account.

All the daily staking gains I have received are presented in the chart below. The orange line represents the data points for the daily staking gains. The blue rectangle depicts range in which most staking gains are located. Finally, the red dashed line is the average staking gain from start of staking till the last full day of staking.

The daily gains actually have quite a swing, ranging from minimum of approximately 0,20% up to almost 0,90%. Daily staking gains have most commonly fallen in the range from 0,37-0,71%, so that's the actual range which you can expect. Of course, the minimums and maximums I mentioned can happen, but I suppose those usually happen only when there are some significant disturbances in the network and you stake far more than expected or far less than expected. The average value of daily staking gains amounts to 0,57%. Let me put that in a perspective.

Say you had 100 IC at the start of a 187 day long staking period. How many IC would you have at the end of the staking period? So on the first day of staking, you'd have 100,57 IC. On the next day, i.e. second day of your staking adventure you'd have 101,1432 IC. Notice that the math somehow doesn't fit - on the first day you get 0,57 IC, but on the second day you get 0,5732 IC. Well, on the third day, you'd get even more. That's called compounding. On the second day, you're not staking with 100IC anymore, you're staking with 100,57IC. That's where you get the difference. So, let's do the math for all 187 days. The following formula applies:

FINAL = START*((1+0,57%)^187)

where FINAL is the final number of IC coins (or any other coins) you'll have after the 187 day period is over. For checking any other period, simply replace 187 with a different number. START represents the starting staking balance, i.e. 100 IC in our case and 0,57% is the average daily staking gain. So, to answer the question - how many IC would we have at the end of the staking period, the FINAL would amount to:

FINAL = 100*((1+0,57%)^187) = 289,47 IC

So, that's what you should get, provided that math does it's job and your share in the total number of coins in the staking pool remains the same throughout the staking period. If someone adds coin to the pool, your share in the total falls, and the other way around. Staking rewards are awarded based on the shares each person has in the pool. The bigger the total number of coins in the pool, the bigger the weight on the network and thus, staking rewards are received more often.
Why have I taken the 187 days staking period? Because that's how much time we have before the block rewards drop significantly. Basically, there are a bit less than 135.000 blocks left until the block rewards drop. The block time is approx. 2 minutes.

For me, there's only one obvious conclusion to the whole story with Ignition Coin! In more detail:

1. During the first year approx. 1 mil. coins will be created
2. During the next 50 years, the remaining 4 mil. coins will be created
3. Current price is holding quite nicely while staking, MasterNode and mining gains are high
4. Price is expected to fly upwards after the first year staking/MasterNode/mining period ends
5. Demand is expected to remain high since the max. supply of Ignition Coin is very low (5 mil. coins)

Therefore, I consider IC an excellent investment for the upcoming period. What do you think about it? Let me know in the comments!
