Shouldn't have to say this to the STEEMIT community, but just so people don't have any issues besides a transaction fee PUT YOUR BTC IN A NON-EXCHANGE WALLET. I have read 5 articles this morning about exchange's feelings on BTG after the fork, and I have also read multiple things about replay attacks (some say there is protection etc) and other not so good things happening.

During major forks like this, eat the txn fee and put your damn coins in a wallet off the exchange, one that you own the private keys to. I would suggest Coinomi (android) and jaxx (apple/android) I am not super vested in multi-coin PC wallets, I would recommend using the phone ones so when the universe goes back to normal you can use the QR code function and send it back to the thieves... i mean exchanges.

Anyways, Public service announcement over... I will have 0 sympathy for those who decide to keep their BTC on an exchange during the fork.

I agree that you should get your BTC off the exchanges but to recommend putting them on a phone seems crazy to me. I do not keep anything to do with crypto on my phone as they are easily hacked. Something like a Ledger hardware wallet is the way to go.

Very true. I have fingerprint security and another password on my coinomi right now and use a VPN on my phone. Even still, the security on the phone is much stronger than an exchange.

Also, does not have to be a phone, could be a desktop or laptop that does not connect to internet.

I like hardware wallets, they're more secure :)

Exactly. But for the general public I'm at least trying to give them a smaller security upgrade than exchanges. I honestly recommend people research wallets and understand them before jumping in... But anything is better than an exchange.

Great advice - thank you my
