Family members / friends and Bitcoin ! 👍
If your using Steemit then there is a good chance you hold some Bitcoin. It could be a large amount or $50 worth. Either way you hold it because either you believe in it's value technology wise or you think the price will go up in the future.
My question is how many of you actively recommend Bitcoin or other crypto to family members or friends and do they react with a positive or skeptical attitude ?
When Bitcoin was a little over $1000 I advised my parents of it's potential both short term financially wise and as a future payment method / store of value. I'm guessing their lack of tech knowledge was the reason they were skeptical and decided against it. Now when I show them the current price, their answer is simply "It's a bubble" as that is what they have heard from the media.
I've yet to meet someone who is in the middle with Bitcoin, they either love it and are totally immersed in it or they think it's just internet money drug dealers use on the dark web.
With Christmas coming up and family members getting together will you be talking to them about Bitcoin? The reason I ask is I'm trying to see how easy it is to convert a simple recommendation into actual adoption of using crypto, as we all know it needs mass adoption to really hit the highest heights.
Do I recommend ?
Apart from my parents and close friends I personal don't recommend it to others simply because of it's volatility. If they pumped a lot in and the price crashed it would be on my head and that's not something I'm comfortable with.
