How to survive the BitCoin split with an offline cold wallet or BCC friendly exchange

So I ran in to a problem today where my Internet at home is offline until Wednesday due to Rock Solid Internet sucking or my tower sucking, one of them. Anyway, my cold wallet is trapped now! Oh what timing...

This nifty tool lets you use your private key to unlock a paper wallet address, but really it works with any private key. This will allow you to save your precious BTC from its cold storage even if your computer is offline, as long as you have that secret code accessible somehow. So now you can confidently stash that away and enjoy the upcoming split knowing full well that when the nodes are safe you can pull out that sweet coin and do with it what you please!

But if you are still iffy or lazy and overly trusting, HitBTC, BittRex, Kraken, and Bitfinex are all (USA friendly) exchanges that are going to promise cross their hearts hope to die will give a 1:1 Bit Coin Cash wallet to all their loyal subjects. HitBTC is even selling BCC futures but um... that's kind of risky if you ask me.

There's a whole other camp though believing ETH will replace BTC and the markets will have some weird en masse cashout, but BTC has survived 200 + death knoll predictions before. Its too old and entrenched to fail really. Just something to keep in mind though when you're deciding where to invest.
