Haor Haqalkuki of Moulvibazar is the largest sweetwater mangrove in Asia. Nowadays, half-a-pound rice is being used in the haor areas surrounding Kulaura, Juri, Baralekha, Beanibazar, Golapganj and Fenchuganj upazilas of the district.

Boro cultivation has been done in 6,800 hectares of land in Kulaura upazila. Hybrid 180, Uffshi 6600 and 20 hectares of land have been cultivated. There is a total of 4440 hectares of cotton cultivation in Barlekha upazila. Hybrid 260, Uffshi 4065 and local 115 hectares.
Jurdi upazila has been cultivated in 5490 hectares. Of these, hybrid 695, Uffashi 4653 and local 142 hectares of land.
