South Korea: Bitcoin to book a hotel?
Yeogi Eottae, the largest hotel booking platform in South Korea, has entered into a partnership with the country's leading cryptommon exchange service, Bithumb.
Customers of Yeogi Eottae will now be able to book in Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, EOS, Bitcoin Cash or Ripple, revealed in early March the TokenPost site. Previously, Bithumb had already formed a partnership with WeMakePrice, a major e-commerce platform in South Korea.
For the Bithumb spokesman, with these agreements South Korea will be able to walk in the footsteps of Japan and the United States, which have already adopted cryptommonaies as a means of payment. He added that companies in the country are trying to facilitate virtual currency trading.
Downturn in the Bitcoin market
The goal of Bithumb is to open the use of cryptocurrency, like Bitcoin, to the general public. And to do this, he could offer with WeMakePlace and Yeogi Eottae special offers for people adopting cryptocurrencies. But things could not be so simple.
In fact, the Bitcoin market declined in early 2018, as the authorities tightened their position on cryptocurrencies. In January, the South Korean government had planned to ban trading platforms for these currencies, before backtracking.
