[BTC Cash] btcforkmonitor.info down. A lot of interrest in the upcoming BTC fork at 12:20 UTC

The site https://www.btcforkmonitor.info/ went down due to the high request the servers probably could not withstand the load.

There is a huge interrest in the upcoming fork, this is just another indicator for that.

In case you did not know there is an upcoming Bitcoin fork at 01.08.2017 14:20 Berlin Time or 12:20 UTC.

The new currency is called BCH or Bitcoin Cash. It's bigest supporter is Bitmain which is a firm in china that sells mining hardware. The concept is to fork BTC and reject segwit and instead the implement of 8mb blocks and also some other changes.

It is rumored that BCH will not gain major support and rather be viewed as an additional altcoin than to replace BTC.

If you hold BTC at 01.08.2017 14:20, you will get the same ammount of BCH if you hold your private keys or have your coins on an exchange that supports BCH. I would recomend kraken or bitfinex. Also as we saw recently with btc-e and other cases I would however not recomend to keep coins on exchanges long term.
