Trezor - First configuration - Hardware Wallet BTC/DASH/LTC/ZEC/ETH

in #bitcoin7 years ago

Hello CryptoManiacs!

Many of You invest or have crypto - some of You are wondering how to properly protect them from the greedy paws of people who rob wallets.

There is a solution. The solution is TREZOR.
Hardware wallet offering the ability to store six crypto:

BTC
DASH
LTC
ZEC
ETH (myetherwallet.com)
ETC (myetherwallet.com)

Even if You lose Trezor, or it will be destroyed - crypto are safe and You have access to them through SEED!

This post will show you how quickly and straight is Trezor configuration.

In the first step after unpacking Trezor in the kit we have:
1.Same Trezor
2.USB cable
3.2 Seed Cards
4.Instruction manual
5.Label with logo

We connect Trezor via a USB cable to the computer, the address will appear on the screen:
Go To trezor.io/start

So we go to www.trezor.io/start where we are welcomed, and we have to go through 3 steps that we should read and understand before setting up.

The first step is to understand how Trezor displays the PIN and how to enter it:

And here's the link to the video:

Then we MUST get to know what SEED is - if you do not want to lose your money stupidly - check out:

The third step is to add a mailing list to notify you about updates, you can skip it, but it's always better to have this information right away in your mailbox.

If you agree to be added to the list, or skip this step, you will be prompted to click on DONE:

We automatically go to https://wallet.trezor.io/#/ where we need to install the add-on to our browser:

After adding the extension, we are automatically redirected to the configuration page, where we give a name to our Trezor and click continue:

After clicking on continue we will get a nice and interesting info:

Also on our Trezor appears similar board but with numbers:

Now you have to create your PIN by dialing digits on the device and entering them on the web page respectively. For example, PIN is 123456 clicked accordingly: Upper right corner, top center, middle center, middle left, bottom right corner, bottom center = 123456 right? After accepted, the field with dots again appears, but also with the information that the numbers in the trezor have changed:

NOW MOST IMPORTANT! SEED!

It is made up of 24 words - which are displayed ONLY to the TREZOR SCREEN:

SHOULD RECEIVE IT IN A SAFE PLACE, BEST IN COPIES. TREZOR GIVES US IN THE COMPLETE 2 SUCH BOOKS FOR SEEDS:

Once you have saved all the words, on the Trezora screen they will be re-displayed once every single time, to make sure they are all saved correctly.

If we check all and all are OK we will be asked to enter a PIN from Trezor on the website and we will see the following image:

Trezor and Nano ledger are the best on the market!

I bought a Ledger Nano S that is a bit different but I agree that it is the safest way of storing cryptos.
Still waiting for it :/
Good post man!

Check my new post about next Trezor opction:
Trezor - Password Manager

I was looking at the Nano S but it seems to be unavailable until September?

I do not know, I will not touch anything that has no open source

Does anyone know if they are offering support for XMR?
