Only in Bali did we learn that a blockchain conference is taking place at the end of October in Bali. We also signed up immediately, the topic fits perfectly. On the one hand, we have been dealing with this topic for about 2 years now, and on the other hand Marco is currently creating an online course. Our taxi driver picks us up at 7:30, the conference is supposed to start at 9:30. We are, of course, too late, but the conference started a little later. On Bali you can't really calculate the time, you should always allow at least half an hour more. The roads are very narrow and there aren't that many "main roads" and they are congested. The hotel complex is really beautiful (not) a huge complex of a lot of concrete and in the middle was placed a pool and artificially sand was piled up.

We've had a lot of accommodations here in Bali now. But this hotel complex is really awesome, and you get the impression that the more stars the hotel has, the further away you get from the countryside. You wonder what moves people to take a vacation in a temple like this? Theoretically, the complex could be anywhere in the world. But today we have come to attend the conference. I can imagine that it is not at all easy to find a big event hall with stage on Bali. The hall is big. Unfortunately, the interior is without natural light, but pleasantly tempered.

I was afraid of freezing in the hall, because in hot countries they love it to freeze most of the rooms. The organizers have placed large, round tables so that the hall looks full. The atmosphere is pleasant, we listen to different languages from all sides. We land at a table with 3 Belgians and a Chinese man who immigrated to Indonesia. At the entrance there was a world map and everyone should stick a dot on his country.
Germany was of course also represented.

The event begins with a small dance performance in classical Balinese costume accompanied by Balinese music. The following networks pop up on my mobile phone, matching the theme. So we are sitting between the Timetraveller and the Digimoneymaker.
