REAL ESTATE IN SWITZERLAND IS NOW PUT UP FOR SALE FOR BITCOINS FOR THE FIRST TIME

Stefan Christiani, a 36-year-old programmer and IT project manager from Zurich, reported the first villa in Switzerland, which can only be purchased for bitcoins.

Christiani emphasized, that he does not own the object, but only acts as an intermediary, wishing to contribute to the overall legitimization of bitcoin.

“I am a strong supporter of cryptocurrencies like bitcoin, and therefore I want to help with the sale of this villa. People often associate bitcoin with illegal transactions, although, in fact, it is a perfectly legitimate currency, which significantly improves the exchange of money,”
says Christiani.

According to him, the idea to put the villa for sale for bitcoins appeared spontaneously. While Switzerland itself as a whole is very open to bitcoin, the programmer drew attention to the fact that the real estate market is actually quite far away from this technology.

“Perhaps this is not the greatest news, but several houses in the world have already been sold for bitcoins. But this is the first example in Switzerland, a country that is exclusively open to bitcoin,” Stefan Christiani said in his comment to ForkLog. He also noted that because of the bitcoin’s volatility, the price of the villa cannot be fixed and will vary depending on the market rate of the currencies.

It should be noted that neither the price nor the location of the object are given in the information by Stefan, but presumably it is located in the canton of Ticino near Locarno in an exceptionally picturesque place with a view of the mountains and the lake.
