Core, and SegWit2x

Running a bitcoin full node is like running a server. And the server has recorded all bitcoin transactions. There are individuals who operate full nodes for the cryptocurrency world, and companies that operate full nodes to provide wallet or payment services. Mining pools also run full nodes.

There are currently two types of software used to operate a full node. Bitcoin Core and BTC1. Bitcoin Core is a software that has a history and tradition developed by the core development team. BTC1 is created by the SegWit2x development team to comply with the SegWit2x rules agreed in the NYA (New York Agreement).

As the SegWit2x development team unveiled a hard fork in November, the core development team began updating software to disable the hard fork. This update will cause an another chain split. In addition, the lining up is starting before the November war.

Bitwala is a company that provides a wallet service. The company originally supported NYA, but recently announced its support for the core development team. It is a respectable indication of the devotion of the core development team.

BitPay is a company that provides a payment service. The company supports NYA and recommends installing BTC1 for nodes running Bitcoin Core software. The company claims that the chain supported by many miners is a real bitcoin.

USER WINS

The skirmish of the November war is already hot. I am not sure who will win, but I think there is a win in the end of the public opinion. And public opinion can not move with money alone.

SegWit2x 개발팀이 11월에 하드 포크를 예고함에 따라 코어 개발팀에서는 하드 포크를 원천 봉쇄하기 위한 소프트웨어 업데이트에 나섰습니다. 이 업데이트는 또 다른 체인 분리를 발생시킬 것입니다. 또한 11월 전쟁 이전에 줄 서기가 시작되고 있습니다.

Bitwala는 지갑 서비스를 제공하는 회사입니다. 이 회사는 원래 NYA를 지지했으나, 최근 코어 개발팀 지지를 선언했습니다. 코어 개발팀의 그동안의 헌신에 대한 존경 표시라고 합니다.

BitPay는 결제 서비스를 제공하는 회사입니다. 이 회사는 NYA를 지지하고 있고, Bitcoin Core 소프트웨어를 운영하는 노드들에게 BTC1 설치를 추천했습니다. 이 회사는 다수 마이너들이 지지하는 체인이 진짜 비트코인이라고 주장합니다.

11월 전쟁의 전초전 역시 화끈합니다. 승리가 누구에게 돌아갈지는 확실치 않지만, 결국 여론의 지지를 받는 쪽에 승산이 있다고 생각합니다. 그리고 여론은 돈만으로 움직일 수는 없습니다.
