in #bitcoin8 years ago

Integration of Bitcoin in video games is not a new phenomenon, but what about the real physical games? Bitcoin-Empire - the first of those games that appeared on Kickstarter.

Bitcoin already penetrated into the video game world, where it is primarily used as game tokens inside. This approach is useful as a method of promoting cryptocurrency in specialized environments.

Card game "Bitcoin-Empire" is the first of the traditional game on a physical basis, which is centered around the theme of digital currency. The game is intended to reach a wider audience of people who are familiar with Bitcoin, and is focused on the players board games. In addition, "Bitcoin-Empire" has already acquired its own functioning crowdfunding project.

The objective is simple: to finish with the maximum amount of bitcoins. Most card games use a similar dynamic uncomplicated, but, as is the case with all games, it's easier said than done. Since the "Bitcoin-Empire" mimics the Bitcoin ecosystem, you need a lot of things to take into account the interaction with other players.

You play as a unique character. Their selection is not as extensive, as the game is designed for 2-4 players. With that, the characters are well balanced, the official rules of the game allow to settle disputes in the process of selecting a character by throwing dice or draw. Among the characters in the game are the well-known media personality bitcoin, such as Satoshi Nakamoto, and Dorian Nakamoto, who was once mistaken for Satoshi.

After selecting a character, players must create a bitcoin exchangers. By exchangers players earn money within the game. In addition, they should hire specialized professionals to manage resources. All this they do in a continuing attempt to sabotage by the other players. Sabotage can use litigation, break-ins and slander.

The gaming process involves three phases: mining, selection of maps and action. Each phase coincides with one swing.

During the phase of mining, each player receives from each of its exchangers for Bitcoin. Then the player draws a card and puts it face down next to his character card. During the phase of selecting cards, the player either draws another card from the deck or take in hand the card you took earlier (in the phase of mining). The last phase - action. The player shows one card from his hand, and the rest is mandatory fulfill its requirements.

After the last card from the deck has been drawn, the game ends. The winner is determined by counting the number of bitcoins, marked on the map, lying face down, next to each of the players.

Promotion as a way of family holidays

Bitcoin Card game - quite an original idea, but perhaps it lacks utility kriptovalyutnomu the world as a whole. In fact, the board game is not the best way to promote anything in the digital age. The creator of the game, David Thomas, pursued quite different goals. It is unlikely that his plan was to win the attention of the audience is already familiar with Bitcoin, or those who have, and so has a positive opinion about it.

Instead, the aim was to try to soften David cryptocurrency image in the eyes of ordinary people, as well as assist the strengthening of confidence in the bitcoin.

Here is what he says:

Many of my friends and family really enjoy playing board games. But when faced with Bitcoin, it seems to them a dangerous, volatile and alien investment. Thus, in reality, they do not know so much about him and his history. I hope this card game will allow them and many other people to get acquainted with Bitcoin, a new way of bringing pleasure. I think that the main lesson of this game should be a realization that Bitcoin is free from corruption, and the company does not.

The game really helps to create a friendly image around Bitcoin, so it is his satirical nature of the events occurring in it. Playing in it, you can take a look at the collapse of Mt. Gox, or hunt for Satoshi personality, very different angles.
