This is a question every individual needs to ask his/herself. When I firstly joined steemit I would spend over 3days trying to create an article that will suit in the community. I would write my post at it best. But it is quite a pity whereby you spend quality time creating quality content without getting any rewards. It was quite discouraging but I didn't stop posting. The most painful part of it is when you come across a low quality post which one can't even pick a meaning from having over $100 dollars payout. It was later I discovered it was the bidding bot they do use.
I believe when one has no valuable post at hand, one should take the time to check out his/her followers blog and leave meaningful comments rather than doing the shit posting.
I also believe interacting with others through ones post's just as you do is another way to offer to others. The first day I came across your post I thought you were organizing some sort of contest, I didn't know it was something more than that.
My intention when I firstly joined the platform was to post about electronics. But over time I discovered that running a blog is more than that. One have to think outside the box, take in and try lot of new things.

Exactly man!, STEEM is indeed a big book which one have to take time to study. It's quite a pity that some people don't want to take there time to read through it thoroughly which isn't meant to be so.
Since I joined Steemit, have introduced over ten of my friends also but i discover it seems they can't persevere or perhaps they are been inpatient. Although two of them still continued. I can bet that not all the Steemians took there time to read through the welcome page when they joined Steemit. I can proudly say that was what assited me when I firstly joined. Although I had someone who was mentoring me when I firstly joined here, but still I patiently took my time to read through the welcome page and that's why I know how most things run here.
Not reading through before you take an action is just like taking a tour to a place for the first time without a map or even a guardian. One will just forever remain lost. And that's what is affecting most Steemians of today. Some Steemians will at times comment what's not relevant to one's post under the comment. I don't know why they can't just pass by since they don't have anything meaningful to say. I just hope all things gets better man.
I believe when I will have to look back to see how far have gone, I will be able to say good of myself.

Before I got to know steemit my life was hard in the way that I could not even keep 5 dollars on me, my life was in debts everything I did I was struggling but when I got to know steemit I took it seriously and currently all my debts are paid from my steemit earnings and I am a free woman but when I sat down I realized almost everyone in my country Is living the life I was in, so I took a decision to start promoting steemit wherever I go so far I have moved to 11 universities in my country talking about steemit, talked to all my family members, moved around streets and am glad the people are adopting .
My other way of adding value is organizing meetings with the newbies that I brought to this platform so last week on sat we had a meeting where I gave lectures to them on how to use steemit to improve their lives and also use steemit as an investment because it is here to stay I wrote a post about it but am also working on posting a Dlive video of me teaching to them .
My other way is commenting on people's post one comment on my post means a lot to me it shows me that people are interested in what am offering and I want to give other people that feeling roughly per day I try as hard as I can to leave 20 comments. Currently am looking at organizing a contest where I can give back to the members of this community.

What am i doing for the community?
Am sharing with many people about steemit and other steem blockchain dApps to mostly university students who am enlightening them as well about cryptocurrency with a main focus on steem. I have been to a list of 5 universities in our city suchas makerere university, Uganda Christian University, kampala international University, kyambogo university distributed steemit fliers and my steemit business cards to them.
I have also of recent adopted another great trend of sharing with many people about dlive and dtube and am careful guiding them on how to post their videos on dlive and dtube. I will be drafting a list of them and share it with you as soon as possible.
The more we(steemians) increase in number here, is the more demand for steem hence this will bring about an increase in its value over time.
Thanks so much for the great motivation and for being such a great fan of what am doing. This is keeping me on my feet all the time to see that more value here. Am looking forward to produce more results as i go on learning and gaining in experience.

I have organised a dlive contest which i intend to use to attract many of my community members and followers to create dlive accounts and start using it actively.
I've to be honest with you and say that I don't like contest and give aways. Because I don't want to become a lucky winner and rather become a winner by hard work, dedication and learning and collaborating.
However I'll be happy to see more and more Dlivers because I truly believe video-based social media has huge potential and remove lots a fake accounts from Steem. And also bring more original contents to the audiences.

I just did this for that particular purpose of hooking more people to dlive. Some of my steemit people here in Uganda have been a bit reluctant about creating accounts with dlive and use it so by coming up with this contest i just wanted to motivate them with these SBDs giveaway.
Let me think of another smarter strategy to implement and see that we increase in number here on Dlive.
At this point of time I have been on Steemit for almost six months. I have done some posts that I am truly proud of, some were good and some not so good. But at some level I feel that I have tried to add value in some way or the other through my posts. Still I feel I am far from what I want to be as a content creator.
For now I a mostly concentrate on trying to write meaningful comments. I find that commenting is one of the most underrated tool on steem blockchain. It holds tremendous usefulness for a new user but a comments true strength lies in its ability to add value to a post. Comments are the like the grease that oils the steemit machine.
Although I have written several posts but I am most satisfied by the comments that I have shared on other posts. That is where I think I have done my best to try to add value to content...........

Some advice, may be useful..."Identify one steemian you really love. Find everything they’ve ever steemed. Then find out how they did it. Climb up your own Steem mountain.
I have actually looked around at the careers of a few steemians at a deep level. I had this idea in my mind that I would follow their progress from the beginning and see how their growth actually happened. But in the end I wasn't completely able to to stick to the plan.
I was also a bit discouraged by the fact that a few of them had powered down unreasonably and it felt like that they were withdrawing gradually from the whole steemit scene. It seemed more than a little sad and I wasn't really prepared for the dose of reality.
Rest assured I plan to stick around and make some noise :-)

for me WRITING is something that everyone should do, because it is a form of submission of ideas, or feelings I want to convey Through writing, I can explore all my feelings, my understanding, or I can tell you about life experiences that I can inspire all person. the first time I tried to write in steem in the hope what can be obtained by others, of course I can get too. sa So many insights that I got when I started to join in steem a few months ago. I keep digging information and doing research before pouring my thoughts.
because when I want to know the world, I have to diligently read.
"I have a principle when my voice is not heard by others, then write".
I aspire to be a writer and my ideals that I will develop in the world of steemit,
I rate steemit more than just social media, because so many new families that I can in it. I started to make steemit work for my future.

I have been on steemian for exactly three months now, initially I focused more on poetry but making little progress though I'm having people to support but not quite palatable as I have thought when I joined steemit, of recent, I dive into writing motivational piece together with my poetry to compliment things since I believe steemit is more than just writing something that peace you most, writing things that community will surely benefits from, making contest e.tc., I can't say I'm a good content creators already but I'm getting to that limelight. It's a matter of time before I reached the top, I believe and I'm working tirelessly towards actualizing my goal and dream.
There is something I realized for the past three months that I have joined steemit, getting to know people is the way forward to be more successful on steemit, how? ever since I started making good comments on people post, I have gain more people attention towards my work through endless meaningful comments, so I can say commenting is the key I hold to get myself coming to the limelight gradually. Then having more steempower also contribute to one's success on steemit since a lot of people would want to get to know you and if you are a good content creators then you are bound to be more successful. On steemit, is either you are a investor or earners through good content creators or rather you can be the two. I believe success awaiting us, the more we read what people write the more we will be more knowledgable to know more things to write and do on steemit , I have learnt a lot of things ever since I joined steemit in all field of knowledge not only my area of specialization.

that will be really good my friend, making video commenting through vlog will surely be the best option and will be of good benefits promoting the author work through other people just like a audio interpretation of the piece someone writes, have you come across it maybe on your post ? is it good since I believe it will promote steemit and give it a better look, I have tried to make a comment on video while streaming live but it won't just work unless I copied what I have written and later post it in the comments section. I'm waiting for your response too my friend.

Wow, that is really a brilliant idea friend, we all need to focus more on making the steem increasement in price our watchword and the desire to orientation more people most especially new user that are new to the system. I believe the future of steemit lies in our hands all user, the fact that we are the one mining the steem through various activities we actually engaged in cannot be over emphasize. There is need to get more people to do video commenting.

I agree with new Steemians can't persevere or think long term. And they couldn't imagine how Steemit could change their life.
However reading through the welcome page is not required and it depends on the individuals preferred way of learning.
