Bitcoin Is Now the 6th Largest Currency In The World by circulation, yes you’ve read it correctly. According to the Bank for International Settlements, it is just behind five super powers, and outranking the Pound, the Ruble, and the Won.
The figure is based on a value of Bitcoin which is at $11,525 at the time of writing this article, the total value of all Bitcoins in circulation is around $180 billion.
Yen, Yuan, Euro, and Dollar are the other four currencies outranking Bitcoin at this moment. The Dollar stands at $1.4 tln.
Bitcoin prices are growing every day, it only touched $10k last few weeks and is now over $15,000 per coin.
I think bitcoin has a lot of work to grow to potentially replace the dollar as the world's currency in nominating oil for instance, as some people think. I think it's worth keeping an eye on it though. We are living in interesting times and this might possibly happen in the next 5-10 years, although I do not think it will happen in the prominent future.
