Objections to Bitcoin
Someone recently wrote in an article basically saying that Bitcoin was a waste of resources both in electrical consumption and computing power given the fact that there has been no real world applications as yet.
Here is my response.
We pay tax? How much per annum? How much does one bomb dropped on a poor unsuspecting inhabitant of another country cost?
Made possible by a) us paying taxes and b) institutionalised corruption known as the national and international banking system that controls money supply and price, viz. world economies.
This is all made possible because of the centralisation of power made possible by control of the money supply and where it is spent.
The cryptocurrent bloodless revolution will change this as it will be the ultimate free market and most people would prefer to spend there money on a holiday in Iran and maybe pick up a great Persian carpet whilst there, than start a war with said country. (See what Putin has to say about North Korea).
Not only that; the creation of Bitcoin and other cryptos will bring about efficiencies that will make up for expended energy use. For example, check out 300cubits as an example.
Think about it. A few people sit around in a room and decide the cost of money? A few people sit around in a room and feel threatened by another small group of people sitting in another room somewhere and the first group decides to bomb the shit out of the second group who decide to retaliate in kind. And both groups get away scot free whilst people outside those rooms get their lives ruined by bombing or impoverished by taxation. Cannot make it up.
My advise? Watch or re-watch the movie K Pax. Pull up a deckchair. Watch the human race. In other words see the big picture and when you do - step back. No worries you will not fall off the back of the universe.
Agreed on your points.
Yet, I too wonder could there be a better way to generate POW without expending such an obscene amount of energy?
