$50M in Crypto Gone After Apparent Scam At South African Investment Group
Nearly $50 million in crypto assets have reportedly been stolen from investors who put their money into the Bitcoin investment group BTC Global. More than 27,500 people from South Africa, Australia and U.S have reportedly been scammed by the company’s sole manager who disappeared altogether with their money in Feb 2018. South Africa police is investigating claims against BTC Global though the company maintains that there has been no fraud, claiming the investors have been aware “there is no guarantee that an investor will be receiving any return on their investment.”
