Well nothing to do with Steem dollars...but an interesting story...Sunday morning 10 a.m. I was in the supermarket in UK.
I saw this old lady holding up bunch of red flowers.
I am a widow... no one to buy flowers for.. saw an old lady wistfully holding a bunch of flowers... then I noticed a tiny tear in the corner of her eye, it slowly ran down her cheek, she did not seem to notice.. After a long time... she carefully put them back... and wiped the tears from her eye...It was Remembrance Day at 11 a.m... in an hour.. I knew then why she had come in for flowers, but she could not afford them.. I looked at her coat.. old and thread bare.. and only the most basic cheap food items in her basket. It is Remembrance Sunday this weekend, when we remember those who have died for our country. You did not have to be Sherlock Holmes to realise what was in her heart. I did what any gentleman would do... picked up not one... but three bunches of flowers and headed for the check out....and waited for her outside the store... to tell the truth I was too emotional to say much more than " these are for you.... If my wife was alive today she would gave done the same- enjoy them"... not much to improve her life... but maybe... just maybe she enjoyed receiving as much as I enjoyed giving.
If you take out of life...always put a little back in.
Just joined this week, but if this little post enables some one somewhere to reach out tom some one less fortunate.. that is all I ask..
