How Second Life led me to Steemit

I started this brand on Second Life, the first virtual currency I ever possessed. I was approached by Erik Goff to do develop textures even though I had no knowledge of drawing software whatsoever. So I started to learn to work with Photoshop through online tutorials.

The first textures I made where posters, my style was a bit heavy:

Gradually my style changed and I became more subtle:

I used to draw graffiti in the past so I like typography, as can be seen above. It also made me focus on logo's. I designed several logo's for various companies on Second Life. Most of those companies were part of the Goff Management Group.

Erik was a visionary back then and I'm pretty sure he still is. We lost contact when I left Second Life He put me on the track of Bitcoins actually. Back when they came out, back when they were still at the now mythical price of 0.07$ he said to me to invest about 200$ in bitcoin.

I didn't.

Why?

I asked myself the same the same question last year when they were at 900$. Back then the answer was simple, I was a student and didn't have the money and quite frankly I hadn't read the white paper so I did not realize the potential of the technology. It was about that time that I started working on my Phd and left Second Life all together.

But then about 2 years ago when Bitcoin hit the news with its new all time high I started looking into the technology and came across Ethereum. I quickly realized this was even more revolutionary then bitcoin. It was a couple of months before the "ICO" of Ethereum actually. Back then I did not recall it being named an ICO, thats a therm I saw come up a lot with the ICO boom this year.

Again I did not invest right away, actually lost track of the tech with changing jobs, building a house and getting kids. All of those things tend to take a lot of your time. It was only by the beginning of this year that I really started investing in it.

It is how I discovered Steemit. I will be posting on various different subject on here. Probably never twice the same.
