The best place to buy bitcoin in Australia

in #bitcoin8 years ago (edited)

Is Coinspot.

Trust me I have tried them all. They have the best rates, they have the highest credit card buys(up to $5000 per 24hr) and instant bank transfers via POLI.

Other sites either have worse rates, or limits on credit cards Coinbase.

UPDATE Coinspot have removed credit card purchases.

Coinjar is quite good too although their rates for buying aren't as good.

After buying their EFTPOS card I would advise against it. You can withdraw bitcoin from Coinjar very easily to your bank account. It is easier to just use your own bank account.

Localbitcoins also don't have as competitive rates and is more trouble than doing it all online.

I highly recommend Coinspot if you want to buy bitcoin in Australia

So I saw your headline and instantly thought BS... But Coinspot absolutely kicks Coinjar's (who I think is probably the best known one in Australia outside of localbitcoins) ass on the fees!

My only concern is how long have they been around?

Not too sure. BUT they just took away credit card payments! I am so disappointed! Looking for other alternatives now....

I registered with Coinspot almost two weeks ago and have been waiting for verification, not sure what the issue is there as I have also registered with Cointree (only took a day) and purchased my first Bitcoin. I like that you can purchase Altcoins through Coinspot. Are you only purchasing Bitcoins, or are you also purchasing Altcoins? I am waiting for my Ledger Nano Wallet, but can you suggest another wallet to store Altcoins? Jaxx is another I am considering as a desktop sollution... thoughts?

avoid JAXX at all costs. Yes coinspot is slow and my view has changed, once they took out their credit card processing I no longer use them.

@btcmillionaire, since you've tried a few of them, what are your thoughts on cointree.com.au?

You can also use https://www.independentreserve.com/
They seem a professional site, I find Coinspot expensive to buy cryptos on. Example DASH $271.00 AUD, Market Price $236.80, another NEM $0.29 Market $0.2436. I think they are such a small exchange, that's why many use poloniex in the US?

CoinSpot is a trusted Australian cryptocurrency exchange, that offers a wide variety of cryptocurrency. Guys, please do some research before buying cryptocurrencies in Australia. Coinspot is one of the worst exchanges in the world in terms of price. They are always 15-19 percent more expensive than the world's average. If you're trying to buy BTC or ETH and transfer it to Binance or some other exchanges for trading use Coinmama that you can buy via your credit card. Good thing about Coinmama is that there's no limit of buying like Coinbase. Price might be a bit higher than world averagre but still hell of a lot cheaper than Coinspot.
