Three important Airdrops to EOS-Tokenholders that you should be aware of.

As a holder of EOS-Tokens, you should know that there are three major airdrops happening from now untill June 2018, when the EOS-Mainnet goes live.

What is an Airdrop?

Airdrops are freely distributed ​tokens or​ ​coins, ​for a particular Blockchain protocol e.g. EOS, to​ ​the​ crypto ​community. The most important requirement to​ ​be eligable for ​Airdrops is,​ you must hold the relevant coin or token stored​ ​in​ ​your​ ​wallet.

So, these upcoming Airdrops are for EOS holders and the requirement to get these free Airdrop tokens/coins is to hold your EOS tokens in one of the supported Wallets like the MEW (My Ether Wallet), Hardware Wallet (Ledger Nano or Trezor) or other specified wallet mentioned on the EOS website. You also need to transfer your EOS coins to the wallet and register them to the Ethereum address till the end of the final period on June 1, 2018.

Here are the three important Airdrops:

1.) EOS-DAC
The Decentralised Autonomous Community (DAC) is governed by it’s constitution. The DAC is controlled by it’s token holders and the board members which they vote on to operate the developments of the project.

Around 75% of all EOS-DAC tokens (900,000,000) have been reserved for an airdrop to EOS token holders. All EOS token holders that are holding over 100 EOS tokens until April 15th 2018, will receive 1 EOS-DAC token for each EOS token that they hold.

2.) Everipedia
Everipedia is the blockchain version of the famous Wikipedia encyclopedia. With over 6 million articles counting until today, it's already the world's largest English encyclopedia by content. Everipedia is free to use and works without any advertisement.

3.) Scatter or (RIDL)
Scatter or RIDL (Reputation and Identity Layer) provides Identity verification across all EOS DAPPS. It's primary purpose is to help and insure that the users data are verified and transfered securely between the operating system and third party DAPPS.

Every EOS holder will receive 40 RIDL Tokens after the Mainnet launch and release of the EOS Tokens. You will still need to register an Identity with RIDL in the future in order to claim the tokens. The tokens will not be given on the Ethereum chain, they will only be dispensed when the Identity is created on the live EOS mainnet on June 1, 2018.
