Satoshi Nakamoto-The Curious Case Of The Face Behind Bitcoin!!

Let’s assume you made a ground breaking invention which has the potential to transform the way world runs.
What will you do? Obviously you would want to become face of the invention and take lead to further develop your project.

BUT CREATOR OF BITCOIN IS AN EXCEPTION!

Nine years since its inception in 2008, the true identity of the creator is still a mystery.

The world still has not figured out weather the face behind bitcoin is man, woman or a group of people.

With the exponential growth of bitcoin this year, the question of who the creator is has become more and more important to the community.

According to Satoshi’s P2P foundation account, he was born on the 5 of April in 1975 and he is a male, living in Japan. He used English and fluently switched between British and American spelling. It is believed that he wants to either intentionally mask his origin or there are more people behind the name. It is assumed that he or they must have been very experienced in computer science and cryptography.

Satoshi never revealed his personal details while communicating with fellow developers through website and email address which couldn’t be traced.

SATOSHI NAKAMOTO'S CONTRIBUTION TO DEVELOPMENT OF BITCOIN FROM 2008 TO 2011

Let’s have look at how Satoshi actively participated to spread the word and initial development of bitcoin until he disappeared in 2011.

2008 -
On October 31 2008 satoshi published the white paper titled"Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System" on metzdown.com in 2008. Later, Nakamoto created the website bitcoin.org where the whitepaper was published and can be currently found

2009-
In 2009 the bitcoin network was launched and first bitcoin was transmitted. Satoshi inserted a message into the first block of bitcoin- it claimed to provide a solution to end corruption of banks which led to the the financial crisis of 2008 .

Bitcoin is an unregulated peer to peer digital currency which can be exchanged without the need of third party like bank.

Its aim was to give financial freedom to people from money hungry banks and bureaucracy.

2010-2011-
Nakamoto collaborated on bitcoin’s development with other people until 2010.

After that, bitcoin’s source code was taken over by Gavin Andresen and Nakamoto did not participate in the development as actively as before. bitcoin-related web domains were also transferred to a few loyal members of the community.

He was asked by one of the bitcoin developers in April of 2011 why his activity on the project was decreasing. Nakamoto just replied “moved onto other things”. Shortly after that, he stopped replying to emails altogether. It was his last registered activity

But Satoshi did’t disappear empty handed, its believed that an account holding 980,000 individual bitcoins belongs to bitcoin’s mysterious founder- which at current prices are worth about more than $5.8 billion.

With such large stake in bitcoin ,investors worry that satoshi actions can have a huge impact and single handedly crash the market.

But satoshi is know to have not moved his holding till date.

Why Satoshi hid his true identity is a million dollar question, people assume the following to be the reason behind the secrecy-

1. Satoshi may have thought that the government may take legal action against him for creating alternative currency which threatened to replace the banking system and use of paper currency.

2. With the growing popularity of bitcoin and mainstream media coverage, he probably wanted to protect his privacy and stay away from limelight.

3. Like he stated in his last email, he may have lost interest in the project and wanted to work on other project.

4)He might have taken his secret identity to his grave.

Many names have cropped up regarding the creator of bitcoin but with no concrete evidence.
