Segwit is my friend...

in #bitcoin7 years ago

Hi, I'm just chiming in to say, I love segwit. As I look back over the past year, I realized that the only purpose bitcoin was serving for me was as a store of value and a trading instrument, as the transaction fees had skyrocketed so high that it was unfeasible to transfer anything less that $1000 worth of btc. I had just so happened to be wandering around youtube and a few people were talking about how cheap the fees had gotten on bitcoin transactions.

I couldn't believe it, so I had to try. Well, long story short, I transferred .01 btc from my gdax account and 2 minutes later (yes, transactions are moving much faster as well), I had .01 btc in my wallet... I'm so happy and I just wanted to share that with everyone. You can use bitcoin again, yay... So, go ahead, start back using it...

Also, just as a side note, the fees and mempool drastically decreased when coinbase/gdax had an outage on btc recently...

Isn't that awesome

Very awesome... I'm glad that today they finally released bitcoin-core 0.16, with integrated segwit support... Me and my lightning node are about to have some fun
