The Unofficial Weekly Stratis Retrospect #1 — Khilone
Hey all,
Last week I launched my first blog (https://medium.com/@khilonecrypto/khilones-first-unofficial-blog-post-about-stratis-platform-my-story-6561be407aab) about Stratis (https://stratisplatform.com). As promised, here is my second, The Unofficial Weekly Stratis Retrospect #1.
Blockchain Expo North America 2017
Stratis is getting ready (https://twitter.com/OscarBlockchain/status/930499482776670208) for the Blockchain Expo in Santa Clara, California.
Blockchain Expo North America 2017 will take place in the Santa Clara Convention Center on November 29–30, and Stratis Platform will be one of the exhibitors.
As strategic partners of the Expo, Stratis will be on hand throughout the event, offering the opportunity for investors to discuss product developments, as well as one-on-one conversations with Stratis team members.
Breeze Wallet
Last week some unofficial screenshots and videos of Breeze Wallet came to surface. It seemed the beta release of Breeze Wallet on mainnet was on its way, another milestone of the Stratis Roadmap. Breeze then officially appeared (https://stratisplatform.com/2017/11/21/breeze-wallet-mainnet-beta-release/) on mainnet Tuesday, November 21, but as this blog is about last week, I’m not supposed to be saying that yet. :)
The Merkle
Stratis also got some attention from the media.
The Merkle released this article about Tumblebit: https://themerkle.com/tumblebit-from-stratis-a-trustless-decentralized-privacy-solution-for-sending-or-receiving-bitcoin/
Imagine I have a black box, and twenty different people all put in 1 Euro each. I shake the box and then tell twenty other people to pick out 1 Euro each. Assuming the serial numbers (or any other identifying information) were not previously known, a person participating (or watching) couldn’t tell which Euro went to any specific person, but the intented recipient would still definitely receive their 1 Euro as originally agreed. In this way, people can anonymously send or receive money. That is what Tumblebit promises to do for Bitcoin (and other crypto) in the very near future (by December 11, but that’t not last week’s news either :) ).
Live AMA with Chris Trew on Reddit
The CEO of Stratis, Chris Trew, dedicated time to answer questions live during an AMA (Ask Me Anything) on Reddit. The live AMA ran for about two hours and was a great success. All the questions and answers are now on Reddit for anyone to see: https://www.reddit.com/r/stratisplatform/comments/7ddatk/chris_trew_ama_thread/
Special thanks goes out to long-term community member, Pharaoh, for arranging the AMA and to Chris Trew for dedicating his time.
Three questions were selected to win a prize of 10 $STRAT each, with the winners selected by the community, CEO and Stratis’ developers. Congrats to all the winners.
If you have time, be sure to read the full AMA on Reddit. To make life a bit easier, here is a brief recap.
ICO Platform
Question: When can an ICOs start on the Stratis Platform?
Answer: The ICO Platform will be ready before the end of the year. We have several companies interested in utilising the platform.
Asian market
Question: Regarding marketing, which markets and customers does Stratis focus on? Do you have a plan to approach China, Korea, Japan, India, Southeast Asia and Latin America?
Answer: From a Geographic standpoint, we are focused on the UK and the EU. However, we have had companies contacting us from all four corners of the globe. We see the Asian markets as being key to our growth. Come Q1 2018, we will be actively targeting that market segment.
Marketing
Question: I’m sure stratis is specialized in Blockchain so that it’s having uniqueness compared to other coins. But even coins with great material can’t succeed w/o attention from the public or corporations. How will Stratis gain attention from those?
Answer: Indeed, we will be implementing our go-to-market strategy in Q1 2018. We will be using a mixture of marketing, business development, B2B sales and paid advertisements to bring brand awareness. Our overall focus is providing services to consultancy companies that can then sell blockchain services into their existing customer base.
Microsoft
Question: Is there any plan to collaborate with Microsoft concerning the COCO framework and project Bletchley?
Answer: Yes, we hope to have our platform closely integrated with Azure and COCO in future. The fact all our tech is developed in .Net and most is deployable on Azure puts us in a strong position.
The future
Question: Where do you see Stratis in 5 years from now?
Answer: As one of the big players in the blockchain space, with companies all around the world utilising our tech. A network of consultancy companies selling our services into their customers. Ideally, we would have some consumer-based blockchain-backed tech being utilised by millions of people.
The Roadmap
Question: With Stratis having an ambitious Q4 roadmap. Is everything still on track to finish before year’s end?
Answer: Every roadmap item is on track or will be ready ahead of schedule. Next week you will have a better picture of the month ahead.
Stratis Academy
Question: Can we know when Stratis Academy will launch? Is it not good to have these things working simultaneously during the development?
Answer: We want to launch it soon. The platform is ready, but, as we all know, the course content is the majority of the work. We have a team working on the Academy full time.
See you all again next week!
Cheers,
Khilone
