My belief is that the core devs will improve the protocol, i.e. faster confirmation times by implementing what Bitcoin Cash originally proposed, when Bitcoin Cash becomes a threat. Given that, I don't see Bitcoin Cash competing once Bitcoin brings down the transaction fees and lower confirmation times. User inertia on Bitcoin network is a real thing, just like user inertia on other platforms.
