Venezuela and Cryptocurrency

The Government of Venezuela is launching its own cryptocurrency in 2018. I am a beginning in bitcoin, cryptocurrency and the likes. What do you all think of this move? Is it the first of its kind?

Do you think its cryptocurrency will ever compete or rival with bitcoin and the other larger cryptocurrency?

I'm excited to enter this debate and learn from other people.
