Bitcoin Price Forecast (Evening Edition) 1/25/2018
Like a coiled spring, Bitcoin is waiting to jump again!
Current Market Cap: $554.77B (-$17.73B in 16 hours), Bitcoin Dominance: 34.4% (No change)
Fear not my friends as there is sunshine on the horizon. Another day spent pivoting around the $11K mark and prices seem rather sluggish. Bitcoin is chugging along quite nicely however with gains of nearly 1,100% over the past year. The second round of futures contracts are up tomorrow and I have a funny feeling there will be some whales splashing around.
Can Bitcoin anchor itself above the $10K mark during these tumultuous times or will we see that dreaded $8K price point again?
Today I am using three trading tools and indicators: Bollinger Bands, Stochastics and MACD.
Bollinger Bands show we are right at the moving average around $11,300.
Stochastics are indicating normal conditions while rising towards overbought.
MACD is looking rather bullish with the downtrend coming to a close and a positive crossover of the moving averages at the zero line.
Likely Scenarios:
- BTC finds support in the mid to low $11K zone before rallying back up to the $12K resistance.
- Decreased volumes allow the price to continue down trending and we break the $11K support level testing $10.5K
- BTC gets a surge of whales dumping onto the market to crash it, allowing them to close out short contracts in profit before tomorrow (Jan 26th)
TLDR Version:
Bitcoin is still holding on as the alt-coin markets are running circles around it. Expect some resistance at the $12K mark again today as we face downward pressures from the futures contract holders. If there is a market crash by tomorrow then you will know exactly why- and JUST HODL.

I completely forgot about the futures expiration. It will be very interesting to see what will happen, if whales will "splash around" as you say. Overall I think things are looking good for BTC and crypto.
