More and more websites and shops accept the crypto currency Bitcoin. At the international level, the distribution is already much more advanced than in the more backward Germany. Nevertheless, the virtual currency is increasingly finding its way into our everyday lives, so that the Bitcoin and cryptocurrency adaptation continues to progress.

The crypto-currency Bitcoin is the oldest and most widely used cryptocurrency worldwide. It is all the more logical that Bitcoin has the greatest acceptance as a payment tool for various websites.

As we have already reported, in South Korea or Japan there are strong efforts by well-known companies to accept cryptocurrencies as a means of payment. In Canada there is even an online shop that supports the use of Bitcoins Lightning. Below, let's look at some well-known websites that can already be paid for with Bitcoin.

Overstock.com is an online shop from the US, which was one of the first dealers in 2014 to accept payments with Bitcoin. In addition to Bitcoin, visitors can pay with Ethereum, Litecoin, Dash, Monero and Bitcoin Cash. With more than 30 million visitors per month, a large amount of the population can come into contact with Bitcoin.

The popular travel portal Expedia also accepts Bitcoin. However, here is a small restriction. Only for hotel bookings Bitcoin is supported as a possible payment option. Just like Overstock, Expedia teamed up with Coinbase to integrate the payment option.

The two websites eGifter and Newegg also accept Bitcoin. By purchasing a voucher on eGifter you can even indirectly buy Bitcoin on Amazon.

The platform Shopify stores offers, similar to Ebay, external shop operators to open a mini shop on Shopify.com. Already since 2013, all 75,000 retailers of the platform have the opportunity to accept payments in Bitcoin. This is made possible by the payment service provider BitPay, which recently also supported Bitcoin Cash.

American television satellite operator Dish has been accepting payments in Bitcoin since 2014. The company also cooperated with Coinbase to implement the payment option.

Bitcoin can also be used to order a pizza. At Lieferando, this payment option has been available since August of 2017. COO Jörg Gerbig describes that already 51% of all customers pay online and therefore the opportunity is essential to remain competitive in the long term.

Many may not know that the payment option at Edeka in the online shop has existed since 2015. According to the shop owner Bleise already 5% of the customers took advantage of this service.

While we may not have mentioned all the websites that accept Bitcoin at this point, it turns out that there are quite a few larger companies that accept Bitcoin. We are curious what the next time will be for the crypto-currency market.
