How to withdraw your earnings from Steemit? Bitcoin #01

Greetings friends of Steemit, this time by the request of many friends, I took the time to make this post for them and all those who want to know How to withdraw your earnings from Steemit.

Convert STEEM / SBD to Bitcoin

For this purpose we will use Bittrex, so we must create an account on this platform by going to https://bittrex.com/account/Register, then we enter the information requested.

Bittrex has three types of accounts according to their verification status and this will determine how much you can withdraw, these are:


  • Account without verification: You can withdraw a maximum of 0.25 BTC.
  • Basic verification: You can withdraw 3 BTC per day.
  • Enhanced verification: You can withdraw 100 BTC per day.

In addition to this, bittrex offers you a two-factor security, this uses an application called "Google Authenticator" which in a few words generates a random password every certain number of seconds. This in order to make your account more secure, so you will use two passwords, the main one and the one generated by the application. We must enable this two factor method otherwise we can only withdraw 1 BTC per day.

Once created our account, we will go to the Wallet section, then in the text box we copy the name of the currency that we are going to transfer in this case STEEM or SBD and press the plus button (+) next to the name of the coin.

In the window that opens we click on "New address", this will create the memo or address of our selected currency and will show us the bittrex user.

Now we go to Steemit and in our wallet, we are going to click on the small arrow that goes next to our earnings depending on which currency we want to send STEEM or STEEM DOLLARS (SBD), then we select transfer.

A window will open and we will place the data that we generated before in the Bittrex wallet, the address or memo of the currency we wish to transfer, the user to whom we are going to transfer and the amount we wish to transfer. For making this transfer, Bittrex does not charge us any tax.

Note: If you press where it says balance in blue, the total amount will be placed to be sent.

After a few minutes we will get the transfer to Bittrex, it usually takes no more than 5 minutes.

Now that we have our STEEM's or SBD in Bittrex we must go to the internal market that it has to sell them. For this we go to "Markets" with the symbol of Bitcoin, we click and in the menu that is displayed in the text box "Search" we write the name of the currency we want to sell. Once the name appears below we click on it to open the specific market of our currency.

We scroll down a bit to "TRADING", which is the one that interests us at the moment and we will see the following:

  • Top left box (Green): This box is for Buy the currency in question using Bitcoin by making an offer, placing how much you want to buy and at what price.

  • Top box right (Red): In this box we will sell our currency, which I will explain in more detail below.

  • Left Bottom Box (Yellow): "Bids" These are all the offers that people who want to buy have made.

  • Right Bottom Box (Blue): "Ask" The list of people who want to sell.

At this point we will see better what we should place in our sales box.

  • Units: Here we simply put the amount we want to sell, if it's all click "max".

  • Ask: In this section we will place how many bitcoins we will charge for each unit of STEEM or SBD, for this we can see the "Ask" table to know what prices are being handled. If you still have doubts, you can click on "Price" the page offers you three options:

    Last: Sell ​​according to the last price placed in any of the two tables.
    Bid: Sell ​​according to the last price placed in the Bids table (Not recommended).
    Ask: Sell ​​according to the last price placed in the Ask table.

  • Type: In this section we can set time to our request, but it is better to leave it by default so that our sale is open until it is completed.

  • Total: This information is generated automatically, and is the amount you will receive in bitcoins when making the sale. In this process, Bittrex charges a commission of 2.5% of the total amount of the sale.

Finally we press the "SELL" button, a window will open that will show us the details of our sale. We check that everything is in order and we confirm. Now we just have to wait for the sale to be made. If we do not speculate much with the price, our order usually does not take long to complete.
