Man Travels the World on $25 Million He Made from Bitcoin

During an interview with Forbes magazine, the anonymous Mr. Smith said he has been traveling the world for the past four years on the $25 million he made from Bitcoin. Within the past thirty days Mr. Smith says he has traveled to New York City, Singapore, Moscow, Hong Kong, Zurich, and Monaco. “Never a dull moment”, he told interviewers. Mr. Smith’s journey to making the millions he has today began after he finished college and began working as a software engineer for a technology company in Silicon Valley. It was in July of 2010 when Smith first heard about Bitcoin from one of his co-workers. However, he says it was the price jump of Bitcoin’s cryptocurrency from $0.008 to $0.08 that grabbed his attention. In October of 2010, Smith decided to invest $3,000 in Bitcoin giving him around 20,000.

Over the next three years Smith continued working his day job as a software engineer, rarely giving thought to his Bitcoin investment. “I knew from the very start that I was playing the long game,” Smith said. Once Bitcoin began making mainstream news in 2013, the price began rising by at least 10% each day. When the price reached $350, Mr. Smith made the decision to sell 2,000 of his Bitcoin stock. A few days later he price hit $800 and Smith sold another 2,000. Within days Smith had made around $2.3 million. When asked if he would regret the decision of selling so early, Smith replied “I have everything I’ve ever dreamed of now. I fly all over the world visiting friends, I do whatever I want with my time and I never have to worry about money for the rest of my life. I’d be an absolute fool not to cash out not.”

As proof to his claims, Mr. Smith showed his Bitcoin balance to the Forbes interviewers. Which showed a balance of 1,000 Bitcoin with a worth of around $2.6 million. Smith sold the rest of the 20,000 Bitcoin he started with for approximately $25 million. Smith still owns 1,000 Bitcoins which he says he plans to sell once the price reaches $150,000. Today, the Bitcoin price is close to $2,100 USD.
