Verge in partnership with Pornhub.

Verge is a privacy-focused cryptocurrency which gained traction in the last few weeks after an announcement stating that it had a new partner that was to be revealed on April 17th.

The day has now come, and the partner is revealed to be none other than Pornhub.

This partnership will allow users to pay for the adult video site using Verge coins.

Part of the attraction for the company was Verge’s focus on privacy, with the addresses of transactions being anonymous, allowing a private ledger – this differs from more mainstream cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, where all transactions are made publicly available on the blockchain.

Corey Price, Vice President of Pornhub, has said that the company had been “looking at crypto for quite some time”, and that although “overall adoption is relatively low, we think it has gained enough steam for us to penetrate the market.”

Curiousity around this announcement had previously led to a rise in price, with an almost 200% spike in the price since the start of April. However, since the announcement, the price has dropped by 20% at the time of writing.
