Coinbase Scammers Make Thousands in Minutes Using Twitter

in #bitcoin7 years ago

Coinbase scammers making fast moves into the feeds of Coinbase twitter posts to scam Coinbase customers. An account trying to look like Coinbase using Twitter alias, “@RyanSor…” which is not a Coinbase alias promises Coinbase Ether hand outs if users send Ether to an external Ether address.

The post was posted 43 min ago of my initial viewing. I knew it was a scam however many fake twitter accounts reply to the fake Coinbase ad with praise of the deal which can compel unsuspecting users to believe in it.

Looking up the external Ether address the fake ad provides, some users have already began to send Ether to this scammer.

If you are a Coinbase customer, contact Coinbase immediately. The fake ad was the top comment in the Coinbase Bitcoin SegWit post. Coinbase’s marketing team should be notified of this scam and notify their customers who may have sent Ether to this scammer.
