SegWit 2X Fork Coming December 28th
SegWit2X Is Coming December 28th!
As if we didn't have enough Bitcoin forks to deal with this month, what with Diamond, Platinum, Super Bitcoin, GOD and maybe more I've probably forgotten about all coming. News from Bitcoinist says that SegWit2X will be launching on December 28th.
The specific date being:
December 28th, 2017 at block 501451.
Why B2X?
According to that article B2X will have:
- Bigger 4mbs blocks
- Faster block times
- Unique addresses, and
- A whole bunch of other technical stuff
The article also says the 2X team's roadmpap includes plans to integrate ZK Snarks for better privacy, add smart contracts, and also the lightning network.
Can They Pull It Off?
They have a VERY bold roadmap, and I wonder if they can pull it off?
One things for sure, people who were holding B2X futures will be seeing their coins by the end of the year. Only time will tell if it is to be a successful fork I guess!

I wouldn't personally store it there, I have some BTC on Binance but the rest is on a hardware wallet.
I'm guessing it could be expensive to move it at the moment? It depends how much risk you're willing to take, or how much fees you want to pay I guess.
B2X will be interesting.
I think there is UBTC already, they have a second date 03/01 for the chain to be active or something and they have 1:1 BTC-UBTC and 100:1 QTUM-UBTC.

I'm more excited about this fork than BCC or BTG (or any of the other forks). I hope that Bittrex will support the coins.

I'm pretty sure Binance will support it, they've given out the previous forks so far, not sure about Bittrex though. Fingers crossed. :-)
I read some critics about this segwit. All the team around this fork is Russian roots, names and origin. But all the media and chats are in English tongue. For me this is suspicious. And i realy like bitcoin god, for me it looks great and they have big support. Will see.
