For Americans with Coinbase there is an option to link your bank account to your wallet making future payment transfers easier but i've to note that Coinbase is not a bitcoin exchange, you are buying/selling your coins directly from the firm. For traders that want a traditional bitcoin exchange, BitStamp is another option. With BitStamp, you are trading with other users and not the company, which only acts as a middleman. Liquidity is higher and you can almost always find another person to take the other side of your trade.

Personally,if you are European, i recommend a small french exchange, paymium that is using as a bank partner BNP Paribas.
Other exchanges not particularly recommended by me but still used by the bitcoin community, probably because of high liquidity, are:

For large btc investment you can now use BIT, The Bitcoin Investment Trust, now listed at OTCC market, open-ended trust that is invested exclusively in bitcoin and derives its value solely from the price of bitcoin. It enables investors to gain exposure to the price movement of bitcoin without the challenges of buying, storing, and safekeeping bitcoins

Solid post. Really appreciate you bring this to our attention. The crypto space brings the biggest group of uneducated investors with it. This group will only grow. We really need more insights in the market and previous investment results. An interesting website I found: https://www.coincheckup.com They seem to give this complete indepth analysis of all cryptocoins. Check: https://www.coincheckup.com/coins/Bitcoin#analysis For the Bitcoin Analysis.
