Bitcoin has the first mover advantage, which means being the first one is what keeps it at the top, and to stay on the top they need to retain three positions:
- Fast transaction time (bitcoin is slow)
- Low transaction fees ( not the case with Bitcoin anymore)
- Governance ( a fight over what should be done with blockchain size means they have weak governance)
I would say bitcoin as a technology can be developed more and saved, but because of social problems and weak governance, the end of bitcoin could be near.
