"They Have Won" Human Greed and Bitcoin
When I first got into researching the Blockchain I too was taken in by the thought of amassing a large amount of wealth. That though quickly subsided when I read “The Age of Cryptocurrency” by Michael J. Casey and Paul Vigna and “Blockchain, Blueprint for a New Economy” by Melanie Swan that I realized this technology could truly be the next phase of human evolution. Forget the thought of making tons of money, for me it became how can we improve the lives of people around the world. I began to think about all the communist, socialist and totalitarian societies where people have no freedom. How we are all taught to hate people we have never met and don’t know all under the banner of fighting terror. I am thankful for my initial thought of greed because it has taken me down the proverbial Rabbit Hole, sending me to an in depth look at how our society works here in America.
Being an African American living in the United States, I have experienced bias, racism, poor education, poverty and a host of things that have taken a tole on my psyche. But those things have not changed my belief in mankind, I truly believe that mankind is controlled and misguided by powers many don’t understand exist. Wars, racism, hatred all pad the pockets of an imperialistic conglomerate of central banking powers that use their control of monetary supply to impose their will on unknowing people. I could go on and on about the central bank and the world we live in, but I will simply direct you to a book named “The Creature from Jekyll Island” a second look at our federal reserve system may or may not give you some insight of the great game that is being played where we the spectators are the only losers.
Back to my original thought, my excitement of the Blockchain thrust me into research that allowed me the ability to choose many projects that I could invest in. Everything in the Blockchain for the most part is a project, these are not companies with central structures everything is opensource which means us the people have control. With my research I made a drastic mistake, I began to share my findings with others in the hopes that they too would see the value of the technology and real-world use cases. Yes, I was naïve for thinking this would interest people, but the truth is after speaking with many individuals I discovered they were only concerned with how they can make millions of dollars with Bitcoin. As a Financial Advisor this was very alarming to me because many of those same individuals had no retirement, no life insurance yet suddenly had the money to invest in something they have no understanding of.
I’m done, I’m done trying to change the course of mankind. I’m done trying to enlighten those that are solely focused on greed. I will continue to be an advocate of the Blockchain and support the projects I believe in. I will no longer share my findings with anyone, you see a beautiful thing can be broken when man realizes an opportunity for power. The saying is true, “Man has an insatiable hole in his heart that can’t be filled”. There are so many fake projects coming in the form of ICO’s (initial coin offerings) that are sending desperate and greedy people into a frenzy, some dumping their life savings for the potential to get rich. The truth is one can not gain wealth without his or her own effort, innovation and a true service or product in which people need. You see it wasn’t Bernard Madoff, it wasn’t Wall Street that caused these huge financial crashes it was you and I our greed has blinded us from making good decisions.
I want you all to be healthy, wealthy and happy……………………………….we must all remember the betterment of mankind is the key to all things and maybe it is time for us all to revisit what we call WEALTH.
GOD BLESS and HELP US ALL
Well written and I fully agree.
Thank you
