HODL? When did it become mainstream

Do you ever have a shower-though and wonder when the term HODL became a thing? It has been around for a few years in some fashion but looks to have really taken off around the end of November.

Below is the graph of how many times the term HODL was used on Twitter and Instagram over the last year.

Within the last year the term HODL was used 854,024 times with a 77% positive sentiment.

Some quick history on the term HODL, it originated from a post on the old bitcointalk forums around late 2013 during one of bitcoins many crashes where a user misspelled the word HOLD.

Shortly after the HODL term was coined it spread throughout the bitcoin community like wildfire and in eventually got its own acronym for "Hold On for Dear Life".
