RE: The REAL Story behind Craig Wright and the Bitcoin Cash Motivation
Really great write up, enjoyed reading every bit of it and I completely agree with the conclusions you make in this article.
A very good friend of mine, who has passed away a couple of years ago, was at one point in time also regarded being one of the possible persons behind Satoshi Nakamoto.
Now, since I knew him well enough myself, I was fairly certain that it would be very unlikely that he actually was Satoshi Nakamoto. That didn't stop many people to come up with all sorts of conspiracy theories and basically harassing his widow on Twitter about this (also a close friend of mine).
I just find it pretty weird that some people actually believed Craig Wright to be Satoshi. It was pretty clear from the start that the chance of him Being the real creator of Bitcoin was very very unlikely. Just compare the writing style of the real Satoshi (as found on Bitcointalk and the early mailing list), to the writing style of Craig Wright. Completely different...
Sometimes I just wish that people just let it go. In the end, it doesn't really matter who Satoshi is. It's all just speculation until the actual Satoshi appears and starts spending coins from those early addresses.
My condolences for your friend. One of the major problems in crypto is still the general cluelessness of people and the general type of people that crypto attracts. These type of people + a lot of money attract people like Craig.
To be honest I think with institutional inflow, we will see a lot more craigs in the next few years. Especially once it will be possible to short more coins.
Its important that we keep spreading the word and take the time to educate us and others .
