A diretora-gerente do Fundo Monetário Internacional (FMI), Christine Lagarde voltou a abordar o tema do bitcoin e da criptomoeda. Em um recente evento do FMI, Lagarde disse a repórteres que as moedas virtuais irão constituir o catalisador de “perturbações maciças” nos mercados financeiros.

Lagarde descreveu o bitcoin como um fenômeno amplo e composto, descartando aqueles que afirmam que o bitcoin é uma “fraude” ou um “esquema de Ponzi”.
