Short news: Next week

Hello world, I prepared just a brief summary, what we can expect in next few hours or days. Just short news what I found, enjoy (headlines are used also as links to sources).

Ethereum Byzantium hard fork

It should happen on Monday 16th October between 12-13 UTC as a first part before launch of Metropolis phase. What does it means for us? As a user nothing much, do not be worry, there will be added some features, new possibilities for developers, etc. But the main thing is updating of your wallet, if you use official ETH wallet. So, do not forget to update your wallets, or you will be on the wrong chain. Like it happen to my friend with PIVX and he was staking on the work chain, which meant the rewards he got were not on the main chain, the same for transaction he made, bad luck. PIVX zerocoin launch

Finally it is here. Total anonymization of transaction, first time on the Proof of Stake coin. Is it a big deal? PIVX community thinks so. We can saw that price was rising a little since the deadline of mandatory wallet update on 6th October, followed by smooth hardfork on the 13th. And on the 16th of October we will finally have a chance to enjoy it. We will see what will happen, if it will jump to the moon, or will not have any influence on that, but for sure, it is positive news for people who were waiting for that since July, when there were first rumors about that. What more they works on other improvements according to their roadmap and even work on the zerocoin v2. Future might be bright... or not, we will see.

19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China

It will start on 18th of October and should last whole week... What? Why do I put it here? Because there are rumors there will be discussed future of alt coin exchanges in China. As it is well known, trading is somehow restricted since October (for crypto x fiat currency exchange, but Huobi and OKCoin have an exception till the end of the October). It should start on the 18th of October and we should keep an eye what will happen there, of course may be nothing will happen, or something interesting might. It would be great news for cryptos like NEO, QTUM,ETP, WTC and others favorite coins in China (of course not only there). Do you remember the craziness with NEO and its price around 50 USD? Of course, there were different circumstances, there was not banned ICOs etc. But only time will show us, if something will change or not.

SWELL conference (Ripple) in Toronto

Well, I have to admit I did not studied that much, but truth is, there will be conference between 16-18th October in Toronto. Usually there are some announcements (partnerships, technological progress etc), which can make people crazy buying or selling, it depends what announcement it is. But what is it about? Official website states "This event brings together leaders in banking and payments, corporate treasurers and industry luminaries focused on blockchain." So, if you are interested in ripple, and bank-blockchain connection,it might be useful to pay attention to that.

Obsidian on HitBTC

It is today, 15th October 2017! But, why is it important? Obsidian platform is really interesting messaging system based on blockchain technology . I wrote about that in short in one of my previous posts during ICO phase. But it is still young coin and quite new project which might sound risky for you. When the coin was added to Cryptopia, it became the coin with highest volume there for couple days, now of course the interest about that fall down a little. Maybe listing on HitBTC will help that coin again to get back, but keep in mind that not every time the listing on the new exchange leads to rising price. Btw Obsidian team testing the desktop app for some time and they work on mobile app too. It might be exciting to enjoy decentralized secured app for instant messaging, if it will work as it is supposed.
