Will FB & Google equivalents exist in a decentralized world? 🧐🎬
Hi Deep Thinkers... This question is for you...
It is my view that a centralized revenue collection company is inconsistent within a decentralized platform. What I mean is that we will NOT see any big FB, Google etc... equivalents in the decentralized world. Or if they do exist, their size will be very small vs. the size of the network they active in. Do you agree?
The reason being that the community can always fork the network away from the founding/centralized revenue collection point and do the "Robin Hood" thing by giving the revenue to the communities supporting that particular project.
If this is the case, then any big centralized revenue collection point will eventually be broken down. Does this argument seem reasonable? Also I believe this only applies to the software side and not the hardware i.e. Bitmain is more like an Apple and wont easily be removed.

I think Facebook will die a slow death ( if it doesn't adjust ) and any new social network platform that wants to succeed and last will need to reward its content providers. So to answer your question. No I don't think a social giant like Facebook or reddit will exist but I do think it's possible to have large front runners like Steemit that rewards it's users.

The big problem with companies like google and facebook is that they got so big and powerful that they cannot help to using their dominant position for their own interests. The very essence of a decentralized system is that it is not centralized, meaning the power of a system is in the hands of many.
Will companies like Facebook and Google become more transparent? No, I don't think so because they simply have too much to hide. Their business model corresponds to another age. The future belongs to decentralized systems that are not controlled by a small group of people.
In politics, there were kings and emperors before we had democratic systems. In the digital world, we might see a similar evolution...

centralized does result in great products because you can hire a stellar team and paid them stacks... I wonder if there is innovation in decentralized models... there is no real strong economic incentive for us to innovation...

I'm not going to go into too much detail here for obvious reasons. When the Apostle John was on the Greek island of Patmos, he had the revelation about the coming times or 'last days' that we're in at the moment.
