What are your go-to resources to mind blow people on Crypto?

in #bitcoin7 years ago

Because of the recent rise in value of the total market cap of the crypto economy, I've found that many people coming into the space are doing it mostly for the investment side. Most groups I see on social media have the purpose of finding the next 10x coin. The focus is now purely on technical analysis of charts, which project is going to the moon, and what this mainstream guy said about Bitcoin and it all basically revolves around finance really.

Now I'm NOT bashing the financial side of things. When I speak with people 1 on 1 about what the ramifications of distributed technology is I always gets extreme excitement as a result. I love that! Because crypto's potential is INSANE when it comes to global societal changes, including financial.

So what I'm looking for is your TOP links you've sent people (online) that have successfully gotten them to tumble down the rabbit hole. What is your red pill?

Goal = mindblown

Please share you red pills in the form of:
-Short reads
-Long articles
-Short video clips
-Medium to long talks, interviews or panels
-Full length documentaries
-Anything else that comes to mind!

I'll give you one example of an article I read awhile back I found very insightful.

Oh yea send them this Trace Mayer piece - http://www.runtogold.com/the-great-bitcoin-bull-market-of-2017/

I like a good story. And this book on the early days of Bitcoin is probably one of the best reads on the early days of crypto: Digital Gold by Nathaniel Popper: https://www.amazon.com/Digital-Gold-Bitcoin-Millionaires-Reinvent-ebook/dp/B00P6TZLOU/ref=tmm_kin_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=&sr=

I finished this book in a single day!

I love sending people to http://blocktivity.info to show them how STEEM is the most utilized crypto in existence!

The one thing that'll make you want to eat, sleep, dream, live and breath crypto:

Any presentation on youtube by Andreas Antonopoulos or Brock Pierce.

Any ones in specific?
Looking for AMMO. I need to be able to link something specifically mind blowing

What are your go-to resources to mind blow people on Crypto?
I just show them my huge steemit, com wallet like, "what's up now?!"
https://steemit.com/@funbobby51/transfers

That's not a bad strategy. Steemit is truly powerful when you show them. BUT most the time that is done in person.

I'm looking for resources to simply link to and say read/watch this and let's talk afterwards.... once your emerged from hours of internet browsing on blockchains!

I find this really funny
very Deep

I think the best thing to do is storytelling people about the internet 20 years ago while making an analogy to the blockchain.

We can see the very first uses of internet as internet 1.0, we can see facebook adoption as internet 2.0 and we can take the present moment as internet 3.0, the times when almost everybody has an social media account and a smartphone in their pockets.

The same corelation can be taken upon blockchain. Blockchain 1.0 representing Bitcoin, Blockchain 2.0 representing Ethereum and Blockchain 3.0 representing ... who knows? Maybe Nebulas?

The financial fact and exemplifying that it's actually early to get involved in crypto and not late is the red pills I share to people.

Thank you for this engaging post, @cob!

Yes I am skilled at explaining it in person.

I'm looking for LINKS! to share to people. LINKS!!!!!

:D

I think this photo will blow people's mind!!

Bitcoin has gotten a lot of media attention, so you are saying it will get more?

How can we capitalize on internet 3.0, what will 4.0 be?, and how does crypto fit into internet 3.0 and beyond?
