Bitcoin maximalism: A toxic and cancerous gene to have in crypto space.

Bitcoin maximalist are those that believe that bitcoin is the only true crypto currency. In biblical sense,the only way, the truth and life of cryptocurrency.

But,is that actually the truth? Can you say that Bitcoin is the only true crypto currency in this world of web 3 and blockchains? To me Bitcoin is not the only true crypto currency.

Recently,Nic Cartel, a prominent supporter of Bitcoin came out on June 28,2022 to announce that his fund had a seed investment in the web 3 wallet app Dynamic alongside a16z. Nic Cartel a known Bitcoin maximalist ? What could have changed his mind? Doesn't that mean he has now capitulated on the fact that Bitcoin is not the only true crypto currency.

Meanwhile his fellow bitcoin maximalist were not happy with his move and they lashed out at him when Samson Mow, a staunch Bitcoin maximalist tweeted "Not something to be proud of ".

Nic Cartel have to come out to rebuke them saying on Bankless, podcast known for its fierce support of ethereum to say that these Bitcoin maximalists are "misfiring". He described Bitcoin maximalism as a "toxic, cancerous thing" that ultimately hurts the top crypto.

And I have to agree with him. There should be nothing like Bitcoin maximalism given the potential and innovations going on in web3 and blockchains, bitcoin can't be the only true crypto currency.

To be a bitcoin maximalist shows a person that doesn't yet understand the immense value of technologies like Defi and NFTs. It shows a person that has a fixed mindset and that doesn't bode well in crypto space.

Don't be a maximalist but rather have an open mind when it comes to cryptocurrencies.
